Dr. SSENGENDO BRIAN
Brian is a qualified medical health worker, with specialization in pharmacology and community health. After realizing that youth require knowledge, attitude and skills to enable them to live a better life, he became the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Empowerment Network (NYEN). He aims to provide an organized framework through which such is delivered to the youth in an effort to tackle issues of sustainable development in Uganda and in Africa at large.

BECKY ROBERTS
Becky is a young, lively spirit who is very fortunate that she found NYEN. She originally went to Uganda for her friend’s wedding and wanted to volunteer afterwards. Luckily, she met the head of NYEN, attended one of the monthly meetings, and decided that it was a great organization to join. She is impressed by the commitment of NYEN’s members to help today’s youth and is eager to help where she can. She volunteered with NYEN for 2 months in the spring of 2010 and is back for 3 months during the summer of 2011. Her roles include managing the website, fundraising, holding skill building activities with the Wangari girls, teaching at Good Hope, helping to coordinate project implementation, and more. Today is the day to start helping today’s youth!
MUTESI HADIJAH
Mutesi Hadijah is the programs director for NYEN’s board of directors. She has three years of experience as an environmentalist working with climate change and rural land use. Hadijah wants to empower the youth with knowledge, skills, and direction in life. She informs youth about their rights and responsibilities as consumers and likes how NYEN is empowering the youth to be more creative, skillful and assertive in life.
DAUDI CHWA
Daudi Chwa is the executive administrator for NYEN’s board of directors. He has three years of experience as an IT specialist working with the Buganda Government Ministry of Natural Resources, Water and Energy. Daudi wants to help children develop their creativity and skills and prosper in life.
SSETTUBA EMMANUEL
Ssettuba Emmanuel is the Project Assistant for NYEN. He is qualified in the field of environmental impact assessment and counseling of HIV positive patients. He joined NYEN to empower the youth to make informed decisions on matters concerning sustainable development due the changing trends in global environmental aspects that are dominated by drought and famine. Emmanuel will also empower the youth to acquire knowledge on HIV/AIDS, especially in terms of preventive measures.
LUCY PALIA
Lucy is the project officer of NYEN. She is qualified in the field of social work and social administration. She has vast experience in working with communities on issues that affect them. Lucy joined NYEN to empower communities, specifically the youth so that they are able to make informed decisions and become better citizens.
KAZIBWE MOSES
Moses holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education degree from Makerere University and a certified with Community Development practical training by Community Development Concerns Innitiative (CDCI) in Community Based Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS counseling, Project Design/Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Advocacy for Disability, Trainer Of Trainees and Entrepreneurship.
He looks at the future with a great deal of optimism with hope to make some dreams come true. Therefore, he is enthusiastic about an idea that the first step toward accomplishing any great deal is to focus on the dreams and goals of youths in communities and his greatest satisfaction comes from seeing others reach for their dreams…..and achieve them.
He believes NYEN is a great opportunity for reminiscing the youth of their shared humanity. Thus, he encourages that the youth in communities need to lay strategies for a change to the better in all aspects of life.
NAZIWA WINNIE
My friends call me Pretty; I do not mind. I am 19 years old, have completed high school, and am joining the university soon. I joined NYEN because I like learning new things and members in this organization are innovative.
BABIRYE BETTY
Am 22 years old, am a single mother with a baby girl whom I love so much. I stopped in junior level of high school. I joined this organization because I am sure it’s the only opportunity for some of us to show what we know and learn what we do not know.
NABATANZI LUCY
Am 20 years old, and am still staying with my parents. I joined NYEN so that I can improve my skills for a better future.
SSENJJENGO ALEX
Am 18 years old, still in my junior year of high school, still staying with my parents. I joined the organization because I want to brighten my future through its activities.
SEBAGGALA JONATHAN
Am 20 years old, am in 2nd year at the university offering Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Studies. I joined this organization because I want to participate in the community activities of NYEN, hence helping those in need.
